“Let It Be” | Matthew 3:13–17
What if faith doesn’t always mean trying harder or having it all figured out?
In this sermon on Matthew 3:13–17, we stand with Jesus at the Jordan River at the very beginning of his ministry—before the miracles, before the preaching, before anything impressive happens. And there, in the water, Jesus hears the words that change everything: “You are my beloved.”
This message explores the theme “Let It Be”—not as resignation or giving up, but as faithful trust. Sometimes faith calls us to act. And sometimes faith calls us to stop resisting what God is already doing.
Drawing connections between Jesus’ baptism, the meaning of belovedness, and stories from music and lived experience, this sermon offers a word of grace for anyone who feels weary from striving, uncertain about next steps, or longing to hear God’s voice before proving themselves.
If you’re standing in a season of waiting…
If you’re tired of feeling like everything depends on you…
If you need permission to trust instead of control…
This message is for you.
